How often should I change my filters?
1-in. flat-panel polys: every month
1-in. pleats/any rating: every 3 months
2-in. flat-panel polys: every 1-2 months
2-in. pleats/any rating: every 4-6 months
4-in. pleats/any rating: every 6-10 months
5-in. pleats/any rating: every 6-12 months
Note: These are the guidelines that we provide for average conditions. You may need to change your filters more often if you have:
- high traffic in/out of your home
- a larger family and/or pets
- excessive dust and/or pet hair
- recently remodeled/had construction in the area
- a dry, dusty, windy environment
If you want to accurately determine exactly how long you can use each filter (allowing you to get the most use out of each filter and allow for optimum system performance), you may want to consider installing an
air filter gauge.
